A few weeks back, NFL.com posted this, and although Chengez and I appreciated the effort, we felt there was plenty of room for improvement. As fans of both the DC universe and football, we felt it was too much fun not to try our own mock. To bring more variety to our post we decided to implement two restrictions:
1. Capping a maximum of 5 characters per title
2. Must have 16 heroes and 16 villains
We waited until the end of the real round 1 to accurately account for trades and draft order. We tried to take into account team need, but also looked to provide a team with the best DC character available if there was not an obvious choice. So without further ado, the Los Angeles Rams on are on the clock.
*Blogger was uncooperative when it came to formatting in some portions of the article. We fixed as much as possible but there are still a couple of areas where they wouldn't let us do what we wanted.
1. Los Angeles Rams
Batman - QB
Batman's proven time and time again that with preparation, he can overcome any defense he may face. With peak physical and mental human capabilities accompanying his determined attitude, it's hard to argue him not being the top quarterback prospect in this year's draft. People do question his ability to get along with teammates and coaches as he carries a very stubborn personality and expects the best from his peers. But the Rams should look past these minor issues and draft arguably the greatest quarterback prospect of his generation.

2. Philadelphia Eagles
Cyborg - QB
Before having an accident in which he lost most of his flesh, Cyborg, or Victor Stone, was already well on his way of becoming an All-Pro Quarterback. Now he's physically stronger and is ready to pick up where he left off. His intelligence, rocket throwing arm, and ability to avoid pressure, despite a lack of mobility, makes him a terrific choice for any team. Although he's #7 overall on our big board, reports are the Eagles traded up for a franchise quarterback, and he will be the best one left after Batman is off the board.

3. San Diego Chargers
Darkseid - DT
He is #1 on the draft board for a reason. Long known as one of the most powerful and dangerous characters in the DC universe, Darkseid is practically unstoppable. His intelligence along with his strength will make quarterbacks cry in terror. Double and triple teams will frequently be warranted. He's easily the top player in this year's draft and this is a no-brainer for the Chargers.

4. Dallas Cowboys
Superman - RB
Superman has power and a straight-line speed that'll give any defense a headache. He should immediately become the best running back in the league for whichever team drafts him. In addition to his physical talents, Superman has shown terrific leadership, a team-first attitude, and is inspirational to fans and fellow players alike. If the sport wasn't trending so much towards the passing game, Superman would probably be the first or second player off the board. But for this draft, America's team getting America's favorite player makes too much sense.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars
Doomsday - NT
One of the most vicious players in the trenches. Line him up anywhere and he's bound to get a tackle for a loss. His brute strength and stamina is unimaginable. He even stopped Superman in the run game in a few college matchups. Though he's difficult to coach and has plenty of off the field incidents, the talent should be simply too much for Jacksonville to pass up on.

6. Baltimore Ravens
Wonder Woman - MLB
When you have the chance to draft the next Ray Lewis, why wouldn't you? Wonder Woman's competitiveness alone would make her a force to be reckoned with, but it's her play and stature that will demand everyone's respect. Her physical traits are some of the best we've ever seen and it's a sure bet that she'll tackle any player in her sight. She has the strength, technique, and motor to be a absolute beast for decades to come.

7. San Francisco 49ers
Bane - C
Bane is such a physical monster that one has to question whether or not he's on performance enhancing drugs. On top of his brute force and body control, he has a quick brain that can read plays and disguises better than most others, making him perfect candidate to lead any offensive line. The 49ers struggled with this last season and would seem like a terrific fit for his services.

8. Tennessee Titans
Aquaman - LT
Looks like the Titans weren't expecting that pick from the Niners and traded back up to make sure they could strengthen their weak offensive line before any other team took someone else on their board. Although picking for need instead of the best player available may not always be the right strategy, Aquaman is a terrific fit for Tennessee. Despite being undersized, he has a lot more strength than he's given credit for. His famous trident technique should make him terrific in both pass protection and run-blocking.

9. Chicago Bears
Captain Atom - DE
The Bears desperately need better players on the defensive side of the ball and Captain Atom would be a welcome addition. His discipline is only matched by Batman's in this entire draft class, and the honor in which he plays with prevents him from committing any penalties. His strength is described as explosive and his energy knows no bounds as he overpowers linemen through bull-rushes routinely. Chicago's defense is about to produce a lot of sacks.

10. New York Giants
Flash - RB
The Giants get a terrific steal here with the last few teams opting for need over the best player available. Flash has all the speed in the world and then some with his ability to break the speed force. Many look at his speed and see a feature running-back that can carry an offense by himself, but others worry about his fragility and want him to not have to take too many hits. We personally wouldn't worry about the latter too much; he's a quick healer and just the threat of him carrying the ball opens up the offense dramatically.

11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Black Adam - OLB
Black Adam has phenomenal capabilities and can make plays all over the field, making him a nightmare match-up for anyone. Although he's another player with some character issues, coaches and scouts who watch his college tape matching up against Shazam! will be throughly impressed. The Saints need to get some big playmakers on the defensive side of the ball, and Black Adam will do just that.

13. Miami Dolphins
Deathstroke - CB
His instincts and insane reflexes help him make plays even when matched up with those who are bigger and stronger than him. His focus also makes him the kind of player that the opposing team always needs to keep an eye on. A disappointing Miami defense could use the boost in the secondary and should take him here.

14. Oakland Raiders
Green Lantern - FS
The Raiders were probably hoping for a top cornerback to fall but they should be more than content with the best safety in the draft landing to them at 14. Green Lantern finds creative ways to cover a lot of ground and protect his team from deep attacks He's the ideal player to command a secondary.

15. Cleveland Browns
Nightwing - WR
A very natural acrobatic athlete that has everything you'd want in a wide receiver: speed, agility, body control, and even some strength. Before becoming a star wideout in his own right, he formed a dynamic duo with Batman. His leadership skills have also been highly touted and are probably the best of this class. Off the field, he's known to be a very likable person that teammates seem to adore and look up to. Cleveland is getting an ideal talent to replace Josh Gordon.
Player Comparison: Jerry Rice/Odell Beckham Jr.
16. Detroit Lions
Lobo - RT
This bounty hunter will use his pure strength and good size to do anything for a squad as long as he gets a nice juicy contract. He is more interested in himself than his team and people around him don't take too kindly to that. His physical traits, however, should be too impressive for the Lions to pass up, especially given how much they struggled to protect QB Matthew Stafford last season.
Supergirl - MLB
Supergirl's traits are very similar to Superman with more agility but less intangibles, experience and strength. With that said, her upside is second-to-none. Though she's an unfinished product, she should be an immediate improvement at linebacker for the Falcons who desperately need an upgrade at the position. Her speed should cover up a lot of mistakes she may make in coverage early on in her career.

18. Indianpolis Colts
Solomon Grundy - G
He's one of the biggest bodies in the draft and has a lot of natural strength to go along with that. Because of these two qualities, he offers some of the best protection in this year's class. Additionally, injuries always seem to elude him no matter how many times he's knocked down, making him one of the most durable players to come out in years. He is not a very intelligent player, but this should still be a great fit for the Colts. Grundy is highly impressionable so Andrew Luck should be able to keep him in check and finally get that protection the star quarterback hasn't had since joining the league.

19. Buffalo Bills
Blue Beetle - OLB
Blue Beetle's talents aren't fully known but as far as we know he's capable of doing everything. He does come across as someone who is immature, makes rash decisions, and may even have a case of schizophrenia since he's seen constantly arguing with himself. But don't let these traits fool you, he's capable of almost anything. Plus, Rex Ryan seems like the type of coach who likes to take on high risk, high reward type of players. The Bills need to inject some life back into their defense after seeing Mario Williams' steep decline a year ago, and Beetle could do more than that.

20. New York Jets
Lex Luthor - QB
Another smart and calculating quarterback, and though he doesn't have the athleticism and strength Batman possesses, Luthor has the intelligence, tools, and equipment to make up for it. The Jets are in trouble at the quarterback position since as they're at a standstill with Ryan Fitzpatrick in contract talks. Lex is arguably already a much better QB and will come at a much cheaper price on his rookie deal. His ego may be a problem but he's bound to get results, and the Jets should be ecstatic if he falls to pick 20.

21. Houston Texans
Shazam! - TE
His physical traits are literally out of this world. He has some immaturity issues that could lead to boneheaded plays, but he's also too innocent to ruin his life with the glamour that comes with being an NFL Player (*cough* Johnny Manziel). Billy Bat...sorry, Shazam! could use his talents at almost any other position if a coach really desires. The potential is off the charts, but it may take some practice and seasoning for this athlete to put it all together. Houston is looking to add weapons around the field so that they won't need to rely on DeAndre Hopkins to such an insane degree, and Shazam! will certainly help them accomplish that.

22. Washington Football Team
Starfire - WR
Starfire has the strength and abilities to match anyone here, and many of her past teammates are really fond of her. Sometimes her emotions can run erratic though, which can lead to either excellent or horrible results. Either way, Washington needs to find that big play receiver and Starfire fits that mold perfectly. Placing her in an offense which already boasts Desean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, and Jordan Reed should give defenses headaches all season long.

23. Minnesota Vikings
Green Arrow - K
The Vikings have to find a dependable player that can score points other than Adrian Peterson, and Oliver Queen is pretty much guaranteed to get one through the uprights every time. After Blair Walsh's letdown in the playoffs, why not target perhaps the best kicking prospect in the history of the sport. Green Arrow has limitless range and deadly accuracy, making him a true gamechanger at this position.

24. Cincinnati Bengals
Joker - CB
Although he has virtually no athleticism and a very unorthodox technique, he finds ways to succeed. Joker's a very dirty player and will probably commit a lot of penalties because he think it's funny. He also likes to talk trash, instigate fights, and get in the middle of traffic. Somehow he ends up with the ball whenever he gets in a collision with other players too, so his madness does have some benefits. Many think he's not worth the headache and is uncoachable, but we can tell you an NFL team would much rather be on his side than have to face him. We think...

25. Pittsburgh Steelers
General Zod - SS
With Troy Polamalu gone and James Harrison probably in his final season, the Steelers need someone to take over as captain of their defense. Zod is known for his leadership qualities and getting the most out of his teammates. More importantly, he's a ferocious tackler and will do whatever it takes to make sure the opponent doesn't score. He is one of the most competitive players we've ever scouted and his lofty standards might wear on some teammates, but Pittsburgh can surely count on him to get the job done.

26. Denver Broncos
Reverse Flash - RB
With the top quarterbacks off the board, and a trade for Colin Kaepernick or Sam Bradford seeming less and less likely by the day, Denver should pair it's formidable defense with a run-heavy offense that can milk the clock so Mark Sanchez of whoever else may be playing QB for them in 2016 has a lighter workload. Reverse Flash has the speed, vision, and durability to be one of the best running backs in the game. Though there are some character concerns and an unhealthy obsession with the past, Reverse Flash should help ensure that Denver has a chance to repeat as champions in 2017.

27. Green Bay Packers
Martian Manhunter - TE
As much as the Packers would like to address one of their bigger needs with this pick, they would be foolish to pass on a talent like Martian Manhunter. Teams aren't high on tight ends this year but a playoff team should focus on taking the best player available and Manhunter should be an excellent weapon for Aaron Rodgers. It's hard to say whether he's a better blocker or receiver. He's the complete package. His size, strength, and speed in addition to his reputation as a terrific locker-room guy makes him an ideal player for the Packers to take here.

With the Packers striking on a player the 49ers were targeting, it looks like they have no choice but to trade back into the first round and get the best tight end left. Plastic Man's unique ability to stretch the field is unprecedented in the modern game. He's the red-zone threat that every team wishes they had. After trading away a declining Vernon Davis last season, San Francisco would happily welcome someone as talented as Plastic Man to their roster as they try to revamp their offense under new head coach Chip Kelly.

29. Arizona Cardinals
Gorilla Grodd - FB
Head coach Bruce Arians loves designing plays that take deep shots down the field, but all of that is set up with a solid running game. Although the fullback is no longer a position every team carries, a team should consider it if they have someone as talented as Gorilla Grodd on their roster. He can bulldoze over linebackers and safeties and gain large chunks of yards just by going right into the teeth of the defense. He's also one of the most capable blockers in pass protection in this class. His gigantic frame and intelligence on the football field should be very helpful for Arizona's offense.

30. Carolina Panthers
Deadshot - P
If you want to have a tremendous advantage in field position, look no further than Deadshot. His ability to pin teams close to the goal line is second-to-none. If you need to launch a punt from the own end zone, odds are the other team is going to start from their 5 yard line. Carolina should take him here, especially given their struggles in special teams throughout the season and culminating in a mediocre performance in this year's Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos.

31. Seattle Seahawks
Sinestro - SS
Kam Chancellor is seeking a new deal, and the Seahawks probably don't want to pay him that much money, so selecting a potential replacement here makes a lot of sense. In many ways, Sinestro compares favorably to both Chancellor and the top safety in this class, Green Lantern. Like Chancellor, Sinestro should be one of the hardest hitting players in the league. Like Lantern, his creativity in covering ground and improvisation when a defensive game plan breaks down is outstanding. However, there are drawbacks that have sinked him this far down in the draft. Sinestro has quite the ego, and playing alongside talented players like Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas may be an issue to keep an eye on.

32. New England Patriots
Cheetah - WR/KR
Cheetah works primarily in the short yardage situations as she's absolutely lethal in the open field. From Day 1, she should already have one of the best cutback moves in the league and is one of the smoothest, most nimble downhill runners we've ever seen. As her name suggests, she's incredibly fast too. She should be a perfect complement to Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman in the Patriots' dynamic passing attack.

General Zod - SS
With Troy Polamalu gone and James Harrison probably in his final season, the Steelers need someone to take over as captain of their defense. Zod is known for his leadership qualities and getting the most out of his teammates. More importantly, he's a ferocious tackler and will do whatever it takes to make sure the opponent doesn't score. He is one of the most competitive players we've ever scouted and his lofty standards might wear on some teammates, but Pittsburgh can surely count on him to get the job done.

26. Denver Broncos
Reverse Flash - RB
With the top quarterbacks off the board, and a trade for Colin Kaepernick or Sam Bradford seeming less and less likely by the day, Denver should pair it's formidable defense with a run-heavy offense that can milk the clock so Mark Sanchez of whoever else may be playing QB for them in 2016 has a lighter workload. Reverse Flash has the speed, vision, and durability to be one of the best running backs in the game. Though there are some character concerns and an unhealthy obsession with the past, Reverse Flash should help ensure that Denver has a chance to repeat as champions in 2017.

27. Green Bay Packers
Martian Manhunter - TE
As much as the Packers would like to address one of their bigger needs with this pick, they would be foolish to pass on a talent like Martian Manhunter. Teams aren't high on tight ends this year but a playoff team should focus on taking the best player available and Manhunter should be an excellent weapon for Aaron Rodgers. It's hard to say whether he's a better blocker or receiver. He's the complete package. His size, strength, and speed in addition to his reputation as a terrific locker-room guy makes him an ideal player for the Packers to take here.

28. San Francisco 49ers
Plastic Man - TEWith the Packers striking on a player the 49ers were targeting, it looks like they have no choice but to trade back into the first round and get the best tight end left. Plastic Man's unique ability to stretch the field is unprecedented in the modern game. He's the red-zone threat that every team wishes they had. After trading away a declining Vernon Davis last season, San Francisco would happily welcome someone as talented as Plastic Man to their roster as they try to revamp their offense under new head coach Chip Kelly.

29. Arizona Cardinals
Gorilla Grodd - FB
Head coach Bruce Arians loves designing plays that take deep shots down the field, but all of that is set up with a solid running game. Although the fullback is no longer a position every team carries, a team should consider it if they have someone as talented as Gorilla Grodd on their roster. He can bulldoze over linebackers and safeties and gain large chunks of yards just by going right into the teeth of the defense. He's also one of the most capable blockers in pass protection in this class. His gigantic frame and intelligence on the football field should be very helpful for Arizona's offense.

30. Carolina Panthers
Deadshot - P
If you want to have a tremendous advantage in field position, look no further than Deadshot. His ability to pin teams close to the goal line is second-to-none. If you need to launch a punt from the own end zone, odds are the other team is going to start from their 5 yard line. Carolina should take him here, especially given their struggles in special teams throughout the season and culminating in a mediocre performance in this year's Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos.

31. Seattle Seahawks
Sinestro - SS
Kam Chancellor is seeking a new deal, and the Seahawks probably don't want to pay him that much money, so selecting a potential replacement here makes a lot of sense. In many ways, Sinestro compares favorably to both Chancellor and the top safety in this class, Green Lantern. Like Chancellor, Sinestro should be one of the hardest hitting players in the league. Like Lantern, his creativity in covering ground and improvisation when a defensive game plan breaks down is outstanding. However, there are drawbacks that have sinked him this far down in the draft. Sinestro has quite the ego, and playing alongside talented players like Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas may be an issue to keep an eye on.

Cheetah works primarily in the short yardage situations as she's absolutely lethal in the open field. From Day 1, she should already have one of the best cutback moves in the league and is one of the smoothest, most nimble downhill runners we've ever seen. As her name suggests, she's incredibly fast too. She should be a perfect complement to Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman in the Patriots' dynamic passing attack.
